Losing belly fat. We all hate it.

Hello! I'm having problems losing belly fat. I used to play varsity soccer and field hockey for my school, and it never helped with my stomach. I run and go to the gym and lift weights. I can tone my legs up very easily and my arms aren't bad either. My back fat is going away but the stomach fat is still there. I don't know if it might be genetics and/or the way I eat. I'm in the hardest year of highschool, and I won't have a lot of time because of all the work. Right now I have 2 weeks left before school, and like I've said I've been going to the gym and all that. Is there any diet plans that are simple to stick to during school? Or does anyone have ANY advice? Thank you all.

its all about what you eat. Its great that you have decided to go to the gym and workout; however, that alone won't give you the results you want. As you may or maybe not know already, theres no such thing as "spot reducing," in other words, you have no choice where fat leaves or lives in your body.

Please visit this site http://www.bmi-calculator.net/bmr-ca...dict-equation/
find out what your daily caloric needs are, then subtract about 500 calories from the total, thus creating a calorie deficit. Doing so, you will probably lose up to 1% of body fat per week with a strict diet and weight resistance training and cardiovascular exercise.

just a note: 3500 calories = 1 lb of fat. and 1 lb of lean muscle mass burns 50 calories.

After you find out what your daily caloric needs are, you need to then create a daily meal plan for yourself starting today. in 2 weeks, you will probably lose at least 1% of body fat if you follow what i'm saying :] Make sure to space out your meals by 5-6 a day. More meals throught the day causes your body's metabolism to stay at its peak, thus burning calories all day long ;D

In addition, list your exercises that you do at the gym

As we get older our metabolisms slow down..so if we want to keep looking good we have to help it out a little more closely each yr after say 25...

Im 31 and have been pretty lean for yrs . I usuallly never dont see my abs,.... but that isn't natural on a soso eating and exercise plan.. if you don't take care of what you put in your mouth, your body clock wiiill eventually catch up to you.
What it boils down to for me is cutting out fat 99.9 % of the time ( and believe me it's doable), using herbs instead of salt, using a sugar alternative whenever possible, and mOst important imo, is to reduce your proccessed complex carbs! .. replace those with more fruit and veg and other foods closer to their natural state and all sorts of good things begin to happen..
also protein...if you're sincerely serious and reduce that process carb intake, then you still need calories ..I recommend you some of take them in the way protein shakes and smoothies because it's much much kinder to your liver to get it to digest that than it is to have it always trying to produce enough bile to constantly try to break down meats and so on ... and hydrate ..everyday drink a minimum of 1.5 L .. your body can process 6-800 mls each hour ..then you can pee and do it again.. your skin and your entire system will love ya for it!

Great post by Joey007. I agree with what he said. Seeing the abs is a mix of genetics, nutrition and workout plan.

You said that you are seeing results. You notice the back fat going away. Give it more time and you may see the abdominal fat go away as well. It all depends. Usually the place we want fat to go away from the most... is the last place it leaves

I also second most of what Blooming lotus said. Eating less processed foods is a great way to go. More veggies and fruits, less sugar and salt, and less meat.

Lastly, ideas for eating well while in school... it will be hard so I won't pretend something different. When I was in school I would cook myself a healthy breakfast to go (like oatmeal (not instant)- cook it and then toss it in a mug) and a banana, bottle of water. I'd rely on a protein bar as my mid-morning snack (eat in hallway between classes if I had to), then I'd bring my own lunch (sandwhich (hemp bread, all-natural turkey, piece of swiss cheese, lettuce, hummus, tomato), apple, carrots and bottle of water), then I'd have a mid-afternoon snack when I got home and then dinner as usual.
