paulwis I've the same problem as you. I have like 6% body fat according to my doctor and my school, kinda similar. Also, i'm asian and have like asian low fat diet. For instance, i eat a lot of vegetables, fish, WHOLE wheet, protein, etc. I also rarely drink pop. I gave up pop except for like parties, which is rarely. Also, i run in track, sprints, and i workout on my muscles a lot. Going on from there, i do abs like every other night maybe a whole week. 50 side abs each side, cycling my legs in a circular motion and doing elbow to opposite knee and holding planks. YET I STILL HAVE NO ABS LIKE A SOLID CUT ABS. My friend who eats a lot of grease, but he does gymnastics and has like a 16% body fat has like clear cut abs. I can like vaguely see my lines with the right lighting and if i dont eat. My friends said i've improved and i can get an 8 pack, but this is taking me a lot of time just to get abs. I WANT ABS. Please give me helpful reasons why i dont have abs.

I'd get a BF% done by a health professional that can utilize underwater weighing, or if you can get into a study of some kind at a Uni that has one, DEXA is the standard these days. These are really the only two ways that you will get to the ground truth BF%.

That being said, it's completely possible that you are 8% BF and still not have a 6-pack. Outside of your core routine and BF%, the primary factor in your physique is going to be your genetics. Your genetics may dictate that you store more adipose tissue both subcutaneously and viscerally in your core area, in which case it will make it more difficult for you to show muscle definition in that region.

I know personally that I am pretty much incapable of a decent 6-pack. Back in high school I maintained about 5% (BIA and UW verified) body fat playing football, ice hockey, running track and field, and working out 5-6 days a week. I was in the best shape of my life, but completely devoid of a "6-pack." I had a solid 2-pack (upper abs only showing).

That being said, I didn't measure my fitness by my abdominal structure.

nothing personal to the OP but I doubt your BF is at 8% man. Usually around that %, the veins are popping out like crazy man. I don't know how to put it but you dont' look like 8%. Don't get me wrong man, you have a good physique and probably at 11-12% bf.

btw, if you use caliper BF measurement do it before you workout right after a rest day. If you do it post workout, you are pumped up and reading is off.
