ive heard from everyone here that only losing fat overall with make then shrink and/or go away completely. also you cant spot-train, so only overall body fat loss will help with that problem.

well, im gonna start running
because that helps you lose weight overrall
my friend does it and she lost alot of weight.
so im thinking/hoping it will help my problem.

will running help your lower stomach too?

Running / all cardio exercises will help. But that's not all. Proper weight training and a good diet play huge roles in fat loss.

Man boobs are caused primarily by one of two things:

1) Excess body fat
2) Gynecomastia

If it's Gynecomastia then you'll have to talk with a doctor. If it's purely excess body fat, then you need to work on reducing overall body fat. HalfHeartedGoal and Big Angry Hippo nailed it on the head.

Running is good, but the best solution to overall body fat reduction is a combination of these 5 tips:

1) Eat 5-6 small meals throughout the day. Each meal should be 2-3 hours apart. Each meal should contain one protein and one carb. The first meal should be eaten within an hour after waking.


2) Drink a cup of water at each meal.


3) Rest properly. This means taking at least 48 hours between strength training the same muscles, and it also means getting at least 7-8 hours of sleep per night. Lastly, it means taking 1-2 days off from exercising per week.


4) Cardio. This should be done at different intensity levels and different session lengths. Consider doing a low intensity/long session, a high intensity/short session and a few medium intensity/medium length sessions.


5) Strength Training. Strength train each muscle 1-3 times per week. You should lift a proper weight and perform the proper amount of sets/reps for your strength training method. If you need more guidance or exercise ideas you can head over here.


All of the above things combined will result in fat loss.

Hey im like 15 and almost 300 pounds and im very poor so gyms and stuff are kind of out of the question. I was wondering if really long walks were an alternative to running because my uncle had the same problem and he ran and destroyed his knees. I post in this thread because i also have huge man boobs. And wtf is gynecomastia?

You should consult with a doctor first and foremost. S/he can tell you exactly what to do and not to do. Do a Google search for Gynecomastia... it's literally when men develop breasts.

If you're "man boobs" are due to nothing more than excess fat, then you need to reduce body fat. No gym... no worries. You'll want to start out with something moderate... like walking for an hour a day and getting a good grip on eating well.

Start there and then when you get into that new routine, you can add other things- that don't cost a thing.

i agree with everyone...spot reducing doesnt work, u need to excercise it all...dont worry it will gradually go away or at least definately decrease! cardio/weights should do the trick!

hey condi, start with walking find a track or travel path...start of just going as far as you think you can, nothing silly...each time you do it your aim is to do it quicker then before by 1sec 10secs whatever...at some point you'll have o insert some jog periods in there but again don't go silly...u might walk 1min, jog 10secs or something and gradually increase jog periods...once you can jog the whole course, extend it a little and go again...this is one instance where i wood do fasted cardio as in getting up and before eating do this...some simple bodyweight stuff in the pm wouldn't hurt either but u will have to keep your knees healthy so if they start playing up, stop...i wood also get some knee cover thingies that will keep the joint warm...anybody no what they're called?...saw them on an article on t-nation.com by mike robertson...go to it (the article is on the front page something about 18 things about knees...have a look it's one of the points and u'll see what i mean

OK thanks! Do you have any diet tips for someone who is traveling around alot my parents are divorced so im not home every other weekend and my summers are insane. If not then diet tips for fat loss in general, like what to eat?
