New at dieting

Hi everyone,

I'm pretty new to the whole scene and i want to loose some fat. I was wandering if you guys had any dieting tips. which meats have high protein/ low fat ( not only chicken ) and is it true that yogurt helps reduce fat ( i find it hard to believe...)
Now i was also wandering what would happen if I keep having the same amount of calories , but eat food with less fat?
any general tips that can help me compose a diet are welcome.

High protein is hard on the liver.

The Wrangell teaches us that it's not what you eat that makes you fat, but how much you eat.

A calorie really is a calorie...whether it be a calorie derived from fat, carbs or even protein. If you eat 1,000 calories derived from fat vs. 1,000 calories from carbs, in the end it's still 1,000 calories. In fact, the fat calories burn slower so you'll stay "full" longer....carb calories burning the fastest, especially simple carbs like white bread or sugar. I'm not going to go into detail, so this can be picked apart. Hint: a ton of feathers weigh the same as a ton of lead.

Getting right to it....eat a well-balanced nutritious meal comprised of protein, carbs and fats. Figure out what your maintanence needs are and cut it by 20%....add some exercise and you're there. It doesn't become a science until your last 15%.

If you provide age, height, weight and exercise routine, I'm sure several people will give you an ideal amount. I'm gonna guess 1,500 to start with.

Lean meats are chicken, turkey & most fish

Yogurt is suggested to help breakdown abdominal fat, but these findings are backed by the Dairy board who'd love you to believe anything that leads to increased sales. The premise is that the calcium in yogurt is beneficial. If you like it, enjoy it...but it's far from being a magic pill or having any astounding qualities that'll make or break your dieting efforts.

Lots to learn here.....welcome!
