P90X Experience?

Just wondering if anyone has done the routine, and could give me an idea how well it worked for them.

I'm currently going through it. I'm definitely feeling the diff. I feel stronger, I look leaner. It's not easy though. You must follow the "diet" to get the full effect. But they show you how to modify the workouts to fit you until you can keep up with them. Good luck.

I hear lots of good things

Never done it myself, but if you need someone to help you establish a workout that wont allow you to plateau, I hear it is excellent.

Yes it works. Do the diet with it, but the program itself I would recommend to anyone 100%.

P90X did not do me a lot of good. The pogram is very extreme and even if "do your best and forget the rest" is their motto my best was not good enough. The program alternates between strength and cardio days and each day is aprox. an hour long including the warmup. Unless a person can do a lot of push-ups , pull-ups , and chin-ups it is impossiblle to keep up with the program. On a strength day it starts of with push-ups , they do thirty ,I do twenty. Then they lift dumbells , I do the same reps with a weight I can handle . Then back to pushups , they do thirty but on this second set I only do 15 . That whole day I fall behind on the count not doing the same amount as the people on the program disc. It is said you can pause the disc but that would make an hour long workout last an hour and half to two hours.
I have increased the amount of push-ups and pull-ups I can do and use heavier weights with the dumb bells but did not get anything like the results I believed I would get. I think someone needs to be in good shape before starting and is not a weight loss program but it i a ripping program. I am in the need to lose weight category. I already bought it so I will try it again after I lose more weight.

Thanks for the replys everyone. In reference to Billy Gibbons, perhaps it could have something to do with the amount of weight you are trying to lose? Seeing results right away, especially if you're looking to see dramatic results, when you're carrying a lot of excess weight, can be frustrating. Two years ago I weighed in roughly around 270 lbs, and I'm 5'9. I lost nearly all of that weight following the abs diet, and doing crazy amounts of HIIT. Perhaps you're correct, and something like I followed, would be a better direction for you. I did also spend a lot of time on weights, and core training. Good luck, whatever direction you decide to go.
