Water Weight?

I've been cutting for roughly 8 days, I've lost a total of 8 lbs.
I had the Body Fat Caliper test done at my gym, which revealed only 4 lbs. of the weight I lost was Fat, and the other 4 lbs. was 'Water Weight'.
What exactly is water weight? And doe's this routine look good to cut:

188 lbs.- 5'10- 22 years old
30 Minute HIIT daily(2 min. sprint, 5 min. rest)
Lift weights every other day(Legs, Arms & Shoulders, Chest & Back)
2400 Calories a Day
High Protein, Low Carb., Moderate Fat

Appreciate any input given,
-2nd Lieutenant Ronald Karr

I would imagine the "water weight" is fluid you have stored in your cells due to a higher glycogen storage in the days before you started to cut. Increased protein, lower carb forces water out of the cells because the glycogen in your muscles begins to break down to be used for energy. This uses a lot of water. You can easily gain "water weight" by eating a carb rich meal because the stored glycogen basically soaks up a lot of water. thats why people who do high protein low carb look more cut than their carb-eating friends...or at least, something like that...
