| | | Weight loss and Hair loss!!?? At first I didn't notice that my hair is thinning, mainly because I'm losing weight finally. All my attention is on my weight that I din't notice that I'm losing hair more than the actual amount I should lose. When people diet, do they lose hair? What can i do to prevent it? Should I stop dieting? 20 year old woman. |

| | | What do you mean by dieting? How much are you eating a day? Anorexic people lose their hair. Unless your drastically cutting your calories I don't think your hair loss is related to your dieting. Normal eating patterns should not cause you to lose your hair. I would see a doctor about it. |

| | | I agree with Teresand77. Post more specific info about your menu, workouts, height, weight, body fat %, etc. The two won't be related unless there is an issue with eating. Checking with a doctor is great advice. |

| | | How low is your body fat? When we diet hard and our body fats reach a certain level a certain amount of hair loss can occur.

| | | I lost my hair before, both when I was suffering anorexia and not.
Hair has a high metabolic rate which is why they are affected by diets especially when the caloric intake is drastically reduced at a fast rate (crash diet). As your body gets used to your new eating patterns it should stop falling out. Make sure you are getting enough healthy fats!!! | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
