Adding an extra day to my routine

How can you tell when your body is repaired enough to lift again? I have been doing total body workouts three times a week---having just started a few weeks ago---but I woke up this morning feeling really good and hit the gym. I could still feel a little tension when stretching but in a that-feels-good way, not a painful way. I did 3x5 yesterday and did 3x8 today using all the same weights as yesterday, and it was probably the best workout I had this week. The only thing I didn’t touch were deadlifts but that was planned.

Should I keep to a strict three times a week routine, or is it alright to bump it up to four if my body doesn’t seem to complain? I have been doing Chad Waterbury's Total Body Workout, by the way.

Read up on Waterbury's high frequency routines, as well as his How To Make Your Own High Frequency Workout. He also has a recent one called 2x4, which has you do AM and PM workouts twice a week.

As I understand it, the trick to getting away with high frequency is changing your set/rep parameters. But even then, I don't fully understand it.

For regular full-body workouts, I typically just go every other day until I feel like I need two days off. I'm lucky that I don't need to pay attention to what day of the week it is.
