if i dont feel soreness after my bench press should i increase the weights

rite now i do 45lb (i know its crap but its my 1st week of weight lifting)

also for milatary press its extremely hard for me to do 9 reps with 45 lb should i decrease the weights to 35 and do more sets ?

i never get sore from benching either, not anymore atleast. i think that compound exersices wont make you as sore as isolated, but keep in mind, being sore is not an indication of a good workout, you can have worked out good without being sore.

and about the military, you should only do so much that you manage to do your routine with it with good form, 9 reps is find, but you might want to do more sets, so you might have to lower the weight a bit.

For your bench press question:
If you are just getting into working out you wan't to feel a little sore because that's showing your are working hard

For your military Press Question:
Most people struggle with this but make sure you have good posture when your doing it 10-12 reps with about 3 sets is good so find a weight that you feel is good for you but not easy

Don't worry about being sore. I'd rather (for the most part) skip a rep than down the weight. Load has a lot to do with growth.

On your military press, try putting one foot behind the other (rather than both feet parallel to each other), this should allow you a bit more stability.
