Beginner with Question

Hey,

Just stopping by and I have a question about fitness/weight training. I've noticed over the years that fitness instructors, body builders and female atheletes all share a similar physique. I don't have a toned build and I would like to get one, but not if it means sacrificing a womanly shape, butt and breasts. Is this something that happens to every female as she becomes toned or is there something I can do to prevent getting a boyish shape?

All you have to do is keep your bodyfat above the point of looking extremely lean. You don't end up looking the way they do by accident. It takes years, and if at some point you find your body starting to look like something other than what you want (in your case, too lean), you simply stay where you are (or go back a bit) and maintain.

I agree and would like to add, most women will keep there curvature when remaining at 14% or above. Below 12% for women is nothing but trouble anyway. Having a round butt is partially genetic, but you can add muscle mass to gain a sturdy round butt (or at least to your genetic scope). Breast will come down a little, but not much from fat oxidation.

Thanks everyone. That means that I can safely do all exercises w/o worrying about anything. I have one more question. Will doing pec exercises do anything? I've heard that strengthening these muscles will make stuff like pushing a cart easier and my personal trainer suggested that I add these muscles to my workout.
