| | | being smart or being lazy? Hey all I am just now in my second week of training. I was scheduled to do an upper body routine today but failed to sleep at all last night. (happens every once and a while with me.) I lay in bed al night but just cannot sleep. I feel super tired today and think I would get sick feeling if I worked out. Should i push through when this happens or skip a day? I think I didn't sleep well because I have been working so hard and sleeping great all week. But Saturday I only did cardio and slep good that night but Sunday I did no cardio or any weights. I consentrated on spiritual growth that day. Anyway I wonder if the lack of physical activity on Sunday made me unable to sleep. hmmm
Thanks for any insight. |

| | | I wouldnt think so, the body doesnt need to be exhausted to sleep. Maybe you have a sleeping disorder? I wouldnt try to work out today either, I would try to rest if anything. |

| | This situation is really up for debate. I personally would just go tomorrow. I wouldn't enter a race with half a tank of gas and I wouldnt go to the gym with no juice. Just my personal opinion. You will likely not lose any progress if you miss one day and by going to the gym tired you will not be able to workout with as much intensity as usual. Why not get your body in gear and do it up tomorrow |

| | | I wouldn't do it. lack of sleep = slow nervous system...and that won't be a good workout and does increase risk of injury, even minor injury.
stress really makes for a bad nights sleep. try some melatonin 30 mins before bed. |

Rest wed, sat, and sunday and work in some cardio on these rest day.
I will look into getting some melatonin too. I used to use it and it did help. I sleep okay most the time just every so often out of nowhere my mind races all night. ugh |

| | | I don't really reccommend you do this since you're a begginner but what i usually do when i miss sleep is have a can of coke or something with caffine to get me through the workout. After the caffine wears off you should have absolutely no trouble sleeping. |
