| | The ones from Sears look pretty cheap (as in they scare me).
The fitnessdepot one looks good to me and the powertec would be alright...but on second thought, get you one of these http://www.bodytools.ca/qs/product/-1/2164/117642/0/0 |

| | | You'd get by with an adjustable bench for the power rack. The power rack is a great thing for activities like push press and squating. Newbie or not, a power rack is a great thing to have. |

| | | Evo - What do you mean by power rack. We dont use that name in england. Is it the Smith machine or the std rack?
I'd choose the normal rack over a smith machine anyday. And no, its not a safety feature, It just stops you from learning how to control the weight. |

| | | power rack is a std rack I believe. i.e. it has places to put the weight down but not on runners. |

| | | yeah, thats what this guy should go for.
So you Americans just had to put the work "POWER" in front of "rack" just to make it sound better, but really its just a rack yeah?
Well in England we have something even better, Its called a Mega Rack!!!! |

| | | A "POWER RACK" , or "rack" as we call them is the metal frame that you lift the barbell from.
Many benches (like the one at the top of the page) have racks attached to them. You can use that one for bench pressing and shoulder pressing. And extra feature on that particular rack is that you can raise the pegs (what the bar sits on) and turn them around. Therefore you have a rack holding the barbell over the floor at shoulder hight. This is for squatting.
So racks can be used for many things, depending on the poistions they adgust to.
If it goes high enough you can also use it as a chin up bar. |
