| | | Bench Press/push up equivalent weight Hi Guys,
This may be a difficult question but just out of curiosity, what do you think the equivalent weight would be going from push ups to bench press?
At the moment I am doing 3x10 reps with 25 kg's (55 pounds) in a backpack on the top half of my back. I currently weight about 202 pounds with most of my fat situated around my mid section.
while I understand bench press requires less use of your core strength, what do you reckon the equivalent bench weight would be?
At a guess I would say about 155 pounds?
Cheers! |

| | | I tihnk I read in the NROL that pushup is equal to a bench press of 60% of your body weight. So, I'd be more like 175 for bench. |

| | | If you want to determine how much resistance (load) a pushup is, simply perform one with your hands on a bathroom scale. I weigh about 172# and when I do a pushup the scale reads 75#. |
