| | | Building your arms - one last question Sorry for being a pain, but i'm intrugued in my quest for bigger arms...
From what i've read you should:
1) Not spend more than 2 times a week on your arms
2) Not spend more than 30 mins on your arms in these sessions?
3) Do these excercises quickly
...So what do you do for the rest of the time?
Do some cardio? Do some leg work? Work on your chest? Do some stomach excercises? Or just go home?
So am I right in thinking you are never really doing a guy session of ' arms' or 'chest' It's always a full body workout? I spend roughly bout 1hour 20 per gym session
Thanks |

| | | This is my brief opinion about bigger arms:
IMO the arms will grow in direct proportion to overall body mass/body weight in an appropriate diet and weight training routine (I am speaking in terms of a healthy and normal human being).
Do not think for a fraction of second, that if you do direct arm work, and neglect the other major muscles of the body and NOT putting on appropriate weight will build massive arms, because it will not. They will grow to a certain extent (especially strength and growth when one first starts out), but not near the extent if one were to put on some body weight and train: the legs, the back, and other major muscles of the upper body.
I have 16" arms (I weigh 161, at 5' 7", and I expect this to drop slightly), and I am no one's fool to think that while in deficit (with 2 years of training behind me) that these arms are going to grow within a calorie deficit. Rather, I am in purpose of bringing out the development (and maintenance) of the muscles I have built through proper training and diet (Diet IS the TONER.....baby!)
I am super happy! I go to get BF checked 2morrow.....An inching ever so closer to the magic 7ish.....YES....Thunder me baby!
EDIT: Let me add the Tricep is the larger muscle of the arm, and IMO it can tend to get bored easily, and since it is the biggest muscle and occupies most of the circumference of the arm, lets not lose focus, from pinpointing the smaller (and the "tendency" to be much weaker) show muscle the Bicep.
Chillens two cents.
ROCK ON!

| I would like to see some emphasis on diet. How many calories you plan to consume, whether you have determined your MT Line, and whether you decided to go into a surplus (necessary for weight gain) or a deficit.
Your focus needs to be on a FBW or a upper/lower split (if time is causing complications) using compound movements (as the staple), and involve the major muscle movers (as indicated in my previous post)
1. Develop a sound diet
2. Develop a sound FBW, upper/lower split, or work with what you have available to use.
If you focus less are your arms (but still train them of course) and more on your entire body, the arms will follow......

| | | 16 inches your a beast !
Your number one assumption is false. Try building up your brachialis which is also in your arm and is invloved in all types of flexion, where as the biceps are only activated whilst supinating. |
