Collar Bone Question

I work on my shoulders a lot with iso machines and free weight shrugs. One thing I noticed on other guys is that their left and right collar bone are evenly parrellel, meaning they make a straight line below their neck. When I am standing straight, mine kind of tilt inward in a V shape. I noticed that if I try to lower my arms, they become straight and my shoulders look a lot better but I am straining them. Is there some exercise or stretch that helps lower my shoulders? Thanks for any help.

Shrugs work you upper traps, not your shoulders. Sounds like they're tight or overpowering your lower traps. Do some chinups, rows - any vertical and horizontal pull - and that should help line things back up.

Thanks for the info. I am not familiar with the horizontal and vertical pull. Could you explain to me what is invovled? Is this using the rowing machine?

Vertical pulls would be things like chinups and lat pull downs. Horizintal pulls are all row variations. You can do them on the rowing machine, with dumbbells, barbells, etc. Take a look at the following...

Cable Straight Back Seated Row

Dumbbell Bent-over Row

Barbell Bent-over Row

Make sure to keep your lower back flat when doing any type of rowing so that you don't hurt yourself.
