Deadlift Form Check

Last form check was a little dark. I brought a little extra light in to get a better video.

My hips felt low to me and I was trying to get them lower from previous advice. It looks like I just ended up bringing them back up before I started anyway though. Watching the video they look a lot higher than they felt.

So, have at it. Let me know what I can do better to improve my form.

My thoughts are that I probably still need to get my hips lower and then not pull them up at the start. I am going to work on that.

Sorry, hehe, I really never even thought about the fact that I was watching it sideways. I rotated it and re-uploaded. It looks fine on my PC, but uploading it to vidilife stretched it out, distoring the picture. I will send you the video Derwyddon. Here is a link.

Hips to high. I'd like to see a better lockout. And the weight you're using isn't heavy enough to make a really good analysis. I'm not saying that your deadlift is weak; what I'm saying is when you're repping a weight then you'll tend to have much better form than if you pulled a heavier weight. Form changes when intensity increases.

So if your hips are too high and your lockout is a bit off, then you might have much bigger form issues when you start pulling heavier.

how in the hack can yuou stand on the wall, let alone do deadlifts like that... great gravitation control!

yes , I realize you heard enough about that already- so I JUST COULDN't HELP MYSELF

you look strong to me. and I have to agree with Evo. I can not lift that much weight that easily, but what I do lift, I am WORKING at it. Step it up some big boy!

how tall are you?

Thanks Phate, Evolution & Flyinfree.

Evolution, for a better lockout, should I be pulling my shoulders back more at the top, or holding it longer at the top? Thanks for the feedback!

Flyinfree, I am 6'5".

Derwyddon gave me several great pointers as well. Thanks Derwyddon!
