Deadlifting w/standard plates

I'm re-entering the wonderful world of deadlifts. Here is my issue:

I have standard weights. 45 lb standard plates are hard to come by. Since I like the 8-12 rep range I can load enough 25s on for sufficient weight for now, but obviously the bar will sit much lower. I'm very flexible so it isn't uncomfortable to reach that low, but am I more likely to injure myself?

No. In fact many people purposely use platfroms and a snatch grip to get lower. It will make it seem much easier later when you do use the "big girl" plates and don't have to reach so far down or if you try sumo stance deadlifts which reduce the ROM even more.

I like to do stiff legged deadlifts on a platform so I can go all the way down until the bar touches the tops of my feet. I recall reading years ago that when Frank Zane was training for his successful Mr. Olympia appreanace he used to do 15 reps with 4 plates (405) off the end of a bench so he could let the bar go below his feet on SLDL's and get the maximum ROM and hamstring stretch.

snatch grip is the grip weightlifters use for the snatch excercise, it will vary from person to person. It's really just another way of saying wide grip.

Cool, I can load over 300 lbs with the 25s which will be certainly sufficient for my rep range for the foreseeable future.

Now that you mention it I've seen people stand on platforms

Snatch grip, like Karky said, is a really wide grip, basically as wide as you can reach and still grip the bar. Gripping the bar that wide increases the ROM and really challenges your grip and wrist strength and wrist flexibility.
