Question Fat loss and strength

I've been trying to solve the dilemma of trying to lose the fat around my abs while gaining strength at the same time. it seems as if every time I start running 15 miles a week or so, my weight training suffers by lower weighted sets or less reps. I feel small and don't get the satisfaction of a good workout. When I run a little, I feel my gut just getting bigger. I'm not fat at all, just a bit over the weight I desire. I'm about 5'11'', 200 and would like to cut off about 20 lbs while maintaining strength and adequate body size. I know that several people have gone through this and I am begging for advice!!

Hey SC, were in the same boat. Or close to it.

I am 6' 185, got about 5 pounds on my stomach I want gone, but I want that weight as muscle upstairs.

So, I am bumping his bump, and sayin, yeah, lets hear some advice on this very good question...

If you try to loose the fat by calorie or carbohydrate restriction you will almost certainly loose strength and muscle mass. The only other alternative is some sort of testosterone or HGH increasing regemin. Options include:
1. anabolic steriods (illegal and dangerous)
2. andro (works for some, not for others, may have dangerous side effects)
3. HIIT/Short high intensity burst exercise
I just read some recent studies on sprint training and I think the results can be extrapolated to short high intensity weight training. I'm experimenting with a routine myself. So far I'm a week and a half into it and I have lost 2-3 pounds while increasing my strength on almost every exercise, and I can see a distinct increase in definition, especially on my abs where most of my last 10 pounds of body fat lies.
