| | | Few questions regarding 'manboobs' 1) I have them, and want to get rid of them. I read that cardio excersizes may help against them. But does anyone have an idea of approximately how long it would take, to see any change taking place?
2) I read that in some cases, surgery might be required. How can I tell it's needed with me? Appearantly you have in the genes then these 'manboobs' Is there a way for me to find out if it's just body fat, or totally genetic?
Well that's it for now. Please post any further advice on this matter if you know something I don't =) Hopefully I don't have to undergo surgery for this. |

| | | cardio helps, but most importaint is your diet! you need to loose fat to get rid of manboobs, and how long until you see results varies alot, with some its fast, with some its slow. |

| | | Tone your man boobs up a little bit. You can do dumbell flys or something to that effect, but get weights where you can feel a burn doing 17-25 reps of and no heavier than that. Then do some cardio.
Honestly, before I started working out I had some 'moobs' as I call them, and I thought I would lose them. Haha, no, quite the opposite. They got bigger and more firm, I've got some really big pecs now, and I like them. |

| | | Adumb, interesting suggestion. If that worked for you that is fantastic, sounds like you lucked out. However, I would not recommend that he start doing high reps like you say. High reps do not "tone" muscles. You either make muscles bigger via weight training or you don't. If you make them bigger, that does not lead to toning! You have to lose bodyfat to tone, and to do this, you must use aerobic exercise and proper nutrition.
Can you give us your stats and diet as a start. |

| | I have no experience at all in following diets. So I don't even know where to start with that. If you have any advice on what kinda foods I should eat, and what not to do, it would be appreciated. Quote: |

| Bigger as in.... even worser visible? That's exactly the opposite of what I want. Unless you mean it looks more musculair now, instead of just manboobs (?) |

its all about the properly maintaining what ur intake/outtake, eating healthy foods, resistance training and cardio.
cardio alone wont do much good to you, u need resistance training for the most benefit :] |

| | | Lean proteins - Chicken, turkey, top sirloin beef, tuna, salmon, white fish, wild game, cottage cheese, low fat cheeses, egg whites, protein powder etc
Carbs - Oatmeal, veggies, fruit, whole wheat bread, pasta and rice, yams
Healthy fats - Olive oil, walnuts, pecans, cashews, natural peanut butter, fish oil, milled flax seeds
Eat veggies and some fruit for your carb sources throughout the day but all other sources i listed should be eaten one hour after an intense training session.

| | | I read once that moobs were genetic but I don't know. If you wanna get rid of man boobs then cut your body fat %. Lower your daily calorie intake by 500 a day and do some cardio. you should be able to lose 1-2 pounds a week. |

I'd say my best feature is probably my pecs. What started to happen is my chest broadened quite a bit, got wider and everything and then I started getting firmer moobs. Moobs turned to pecs, and now when I take off my shirt you just see a huge chest, lol. I'm not saying it's the best, but good for my size. When you work your pecs you'll also be working your rotator cuffs, so your shoulders improve too. Good luck man. |

| | | Haha, first, the rotator cuff is not what improves in your shoulders while working the chest. It is your deltoid, specifically your anterior deltoid that is worked in exercises of the chest.
Secondly, fat does not turn into muscle, so if you have fat on your chest, you must lose the fat before you can have a "ripped" chest. Simple as that. |

Yeah it's mostly fat what I got there I believe. So I got to get rid of that first before I'm able to train the muscles right? And that can be done by what was suggested above. (Good diet, cardio training, etc). It looks like I have alot of work to do on getting rid of this. It's one of the hardest areas after all to get rid off. |

| | | Yes, chest and love handles are like usually the last place youll lose fat. Its frustrating since these are the first places that youll want to lose.
You can still weight train while focusing on losing fat. In fact it is strongly suggested. If you dont, when you introduce a hypo-caloric diet and intense cardio, you will lose muscle mass. If you keep a decent weigh training schedule on top of everything you will minimize muscle loss. |

| | | Agreed with junkfoodbad....and also, people who don't know what they are talking about should not "train" people on what to do.
