Five Fingers in the Weight Room??
A few months back I saw a trainer at my gym with "toe-shoes" on and thought they looked pretty neat. They're officially called "Five Fingers" if anyone wants to google them. I asked around at the time and couldn't find a store in Pittsburgh that carried them. I'm currently in Knoxville and found that there's a store right down the street that sells these shoes! I'm planning to use them primarily for the gym, but will probably run a bit in them and rockclimb, putz around, etc...
Has anyone seen these before? used before? have feedback?

I saw the title and thought it must have been one of BigTom's threads

Haven't seen them before.. I've seen other shoes simiar to that with like no sole or anything, but they didn't have toes like that. Should be good for deadlifting. Do you know how the sole is? is it slippery?

I think the soles have quite a bit of grip to them, almost like thicker soled wrestling shoes. I figured they'd be good for deads and squats and occasional short runs.
Not to mention I have pretty flat feet, so these might help strengthen my arch up a bit...

I haven't tried them in the weight room yet. Think they could help with plyometrics exercises or anything else that requires balance.
They were originally designed for cleaning ships, so they do have excellent grip on them.

I picked up a pair of the classics at lunch today. I'll try them out tonight at the gym and a short run afterwards... I'll provide some feedback for anyone who cares

I have never seen anything like those shoes. They look pretty fun though. Let us know how they go.

Went to the hotel gym (equipment is VERY limited) and did some lunges, single leg squats and split squats... I really didn't notice a HUGE difference in stability or comfort, but i often workout in barefeet or socks. However, after my workout i went for a quick jog just to get a feel for them and WOW! what a difference...
I only ran a quick lap around a few blocks as I've heard you really need to ease into barefoot running, or NEAR-barefoot running for that matter. Part of it was a little downhill... and it was really awkward since you can't really heel-toe in these things. Once i finished my quick lap, i was surprised to feel how many different muscles in my leg were feeling a burn. Obviously my calves were feeling it, but i really noticed it in my shins and the soles of my feet.
I'm looking forward to wearing these more often, but i think it's going to take me a while before i'm REALLY comfortable in them. overall though, they're neat and worth the small investment... so far.

Oh yeah, ninja shoes. Karky uses these when he sneaks into his "girlfriends" house, drugs her, and takes pics with her to prove he's in a legit relationship.
Speaking of those pics...
