Legs shaking after the gym

Does any one work there legs really hard when they do a leg workout? Like for me every time its to the point where just as i get of the last machine my legs are shaking and struggling to hold me up and i sometimes have to hold on to something to not fall over and last time i did this i went home and the next morning my legs farking killed!!! and then this leg workout i did it to the same extent where i could only just walk but the next morning only the smallest bit of soreness? this good or bad?

If you just started lifting, you'll be sore for a couple weeks. Sometimes my legs are realyl sore and I kind of use my hands on something to hold me up but it's not that bad.

YOu don't need to kill your legs to get a good workout. I don't anyway. I think my legs are strong while you and others probably don't (don't know about maxout but I can boxsquat 6 rep for 305 and I'm 15 years old weigh about 170), and I do 10 8 6 for box squat or parallel squat depending on which day, and 3x15 for calf raises. I don't even think calf raises are necessary. I do deadlifts on a different workout day and that seems to be enough. I only felt your kind of soreness for a few weeks when I started.

Not sure if its really good or bad. But I dont' tihnk you need to be hurting that much. Maybe someone else can clarify better.

BAD. Soreness is not an idicator of a good workout. Machines suck balls.

LieYun is right...soreness is only an indicator that you damaged the muscles a lot..probably too much for your own good.
there is 'hypertrophy' and there is 'oh god I ****ed myself up'.

the shaky legs thing isn't a problem, but the painful soreness the next day is. tightness, stiffness, or a very very mild ache is the most you should feel after a good solid workout.

newbies don't have to live in agony either...they just have to start at the right pace, typically 1 set of each exercise, full body routine, and not push themselves too hard.
its common for beginners to see how much they can do. the problem is your muscles might be that strong, but there's no guarantee your joints and ligaments are...and those can be really serious injuries.
