Question Is this Lifting Routine Excessive?

I'm wondering what you guys think of this routine; is it an excessive amount of exercises, are there better exercises I should be doing, should I get rid of some exercises...etc. I've been doing 3 sets of 8 reps thus far; it seems to take me around 50 minutes to an hour to finish up.

Here is my lifting routine (done in the form ABxABxx, e.g. Upper on Monday and Thursday, Lower on Tuesday and Friday):

UPPER:

* Bench Press
* Seated Row
* Pec-Fly
* Chin-Ups
* Military Press
* Lateral Raise
* Triceps Extension
* Curl
* Shrug

LOWER:

* Squat
* Stiff-Leg Deadlift
* Lunge
* Seated Leg Curl
* Calf Raise
* Decline Sit-Up
* Hanging Leg/Hip Raise
* Side Bend

Any critique / comments are greatly appreciated!

I'm at about 12-13% bodyfat, weighing 191 and being 6'2"... What I've been doing the past week is dieting, and plan to continue doing so until I get to about 8% BF or so. I'll probably maintain throughout the summer, then start to bulk towards September.

I'm more of a minimalist when it comes to volume, but that doesn't look too bad to even me.

Thanks for the replies!

Anyone notice any 'flaws' per say, in the lifts I chose?

Remember I said I'm a minimalist...I really don't isolate anything..all compounds

Just my opinion.. if you're doing bench and military press, you probably don't need tricep extensions. I prefer bent over rows to seated rows. If you're doing chins and rows you don't need curls. The shrugs may be redundant too.

I'd do some standard deadlifts

Might want to do pullups (overhand grip, palms facing away from you) instead of chinups (underhand grip, palms facing towards you).

Chinups involve the arms to a higher degree than pullups. By doing pullups, your going to work your back better. Since you're doing curls, your arms will get enough of a workout. You back will get a great workout between the rows, pullups, and deadlifts.

Just my two cents...

Nah. I don't agree with any of the other advice given. I think your exercise choice is fine. I like a lot of volume. I understand that triceps need a lot of work.

Chins work the lats just fine. Pullups involve the teres major more, that's why it's harder. Doesn't make it better. Both are good to do.

Thanks again everyone! Think I'm going to stick with what I'm doing for now, at least until I start bulking and actually putting on some muscle... however, things are going well for me right now so why change it at the moment right?
