Looking to tone after months of bulking

For the past 6 months I've really worked on building muscle mass and I'm pretty happy with the results. Now I want to try tone the muscles. Lifting-wise how would you guys recommend I make the transition? And for diet I guess I should really cut down on the fats? That's going to be the hardest part, lol. I do have a somewhat healthy diet, its just I like to eat..I believe I'm around 20% bf at 6ft 185 lbs.

Lifting doesnt necessarily have to change, as long as your workout consists primarily if not exlusively of compund exercises. The main factor in cutting is going to be your diet.

A more effective method I believe is doing complex exercises which incorporate two exercises in one. i.e. military press into a front squat. The bigger metabolic disturbance you can make the better.

Make sure you are still getting enough protein then fill the rest in with fats and carbs 'til you hit your calorie limit.

If with your current diet (assuming it's decent), your body weight has become stable at what you are currently at, if you throw in some decent cardio like half hour to 45 mins a day (or HIIT), you would see decent fat-loss results.

i have a related question.. bout post workout nutrition when cutting down body fat:

is it any different? same? lower or higher calories? taking into consideration that aside from lifting heavy, i added a little cardio.. correct me if im wrong, it means more calorie expenditure compared to just lifting..

i know post workout meals are suppose to replace and replenish the energy lost.. but whn ur cutting, aint you suppose to have less calories? for you to tap into fat stores? im confused..

PWO nutrition is aimed at replenishing glycogen stores. With replenished glycogen you can work out harder next session. The thing is, as long as you have a net deficit in your energy balance then a PWO won't hurt, you just need to factor it in. Plus, around training is when you want to consume the most of your carbs and calories anyway because that is when you are the most active. This doesn't mean you can go overboard though. But you should still use a PWO drink, as long as you are still in a deficit when you use it.
