| | | Missed a Couple Days- What are my priorities? Hey all,
I've been lifting for a few months now and ran in to a slight problem. My schedule goes like this: Monday: Full Body Workout- 1 hr
Tuesday: Cardio. Cross Trainer- 30 Min
Wednesday- Full Body Workout- 1 Hr
Thursday- Day Off
Friday- Full Body Workout- 1 Hr
Saturday- Cardio
Sunday- Full Body Workout- 1 Hr
Normally, I adhere to this schedule without fail. Unfortunately this week, I ran into some difficulty and was forced to take the day off Sunday. "Okay," I think "this isn't the end of the world."
The next day it snows like crazy and I can't get to the freakin' gym! In other words, I ended up missing two consecutive days at the gym. I'm currently trying to put on some muscle mass but I'm wondering what my priority should be for the five remaining days. Cardio or weights?
Any help is appreciated
Thanks so much |

| | | In my opinion, I think the weights should be your focus. Since putting on mass is your focus, I would hit the weights.

| | | I'd continue with your routine as usual, it's tuesday so do what you'd usually do on Tuesday. 5 days off isn't a major deal in the long run |

| | | Thanks so much for your replies. I'll carry on with my routine as usual. However, should I skip the rest days for the next couple weeks to make up for this lost time?
Thanks again!

| | | You might use that Thursday instead of resting, but really, I wouldn't even worry about that. As long as you are back in line with your schedule, all is well. |

| | | I travel often for work, and sometimes I'm not able to set up a hotel with a decent fitness room, so when that happens, out come the elastic bands and body weight excercises, as well as some Tabata workouts right in the room.
It would be hard to truly have a legitimate excuse to do nothing.
Regardless, after "only" 5 days off, I almost bet you will find that your strength during your whole body reps might actually be improved to a degree. |

my $0.02 | I agree... you don't start seeing any type of real initial reversals until just after your second week off... so I'd continue as usual. | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
