Morning cardio and afternoon practice?

I'm a discus and hammer thrower on my college's track and field team. We usually practice Monday-Friday around 12 or 1 in the afternoon and lift afterwards on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

We don't do alot of cardio training, but I'd like to add some more consistantly to my schedule. Plus, I used to do a lot of cardio before college and I kind of miss it. Probably, the best time for me to do cardio would be 6-7 in the morning. At that time, there's hardly anyone in the gym and I can get any machine I want. It fits into my schedule best at that time also. The gym is way too small for the number of students so it's packed anytime mid afternoon until closing.

I'm not talking like I'm training for a marathon: 30-45 minutes or so on an eliptical, walking on an inclined treadmile, or stationary bike. I'd probably just be able to do cardio in the mornings on Monday, Wednesday, Fridays. I'm tired afterwards and my legs are shaky, but it doesn't seem like it takes too long to recover. There will be at least a 5 hour break between the time I do cardio and then throws practice/weight lifting. Do you think this is enough recovery time or will it impact my throws practice? Really, I'm here for throwing and I don't want to do anything to hurt that. I could fight the crowds in the gym after a long day if need be but I'd prefer cardio in the mornings. Thanks for the advice!

Shouldn't be more than a pimple on an elephant's tush. You could adjust according to how you feel later.
