| | | muscles without weights? Hi,
I was wondering if it's possible to gain muscle and focus a workout routine based on exercises that don't require any form of weight - just your body?
Will it be effective? What are roughly the reps/sets range I should be doing in order to gain the most muscle this way?
I'm not expecting to become big like I would with weights, but I don't want to turn out extremely skinny or chubby - I just want a toned physique that (gradually) gains muscle without getting into weights. So, is it possible?
Thanks,
Cody. |

| | | That would probably only work to a short extent, because you'd have to gradually add resistance to your routine so your muscles would continue to grow, which I don't think you can do without weights. |

| | | Pushups, squats, bulgarian squats, eventually you can do single leg squats, King deadlifts, stuff like that. Google them if you dont know what they are. Pullups. It would be a good idea to get a weighted vest or something like that, so when you can do alot of pushups and pullups you can add some weight that way.
Handstand pushups if/when you can do them.
It would be best to either join a gym or get a Barbell, a squat rack and a bench though.. |

| | | Also, go to your local library and see if you can get your hands on a copy of the Navy SEALS workout book. All of the exercises and routines are based on using your body weight as resistance. |

Also, most gymnast stuff will get you pretty yolked. Just remember, muscle mass is built with the extra calories you eat. |

| | | for pull ups, one hand may be another option (after you get really good at 2 hands and the wide grip). same with push up and some others |
