| | | i want to be able to do more push ups than i can right now, so adding weight would make me stronger yes, but i want more endurance. and i read from many pages that you should split deads and squats because theyare very taxing. what kind of rep/set should i use? i was leaning towards 4x8.... |

| | | Somebody once told me 13-15 is best to increase your endurance but I personally don't believe that is true. I'm not sure what is best for endurance in terms of reps. |

But to me it makes sense that by doing weighted pushups it will help you do more without weight. |

| | | Not really, I can do a ****load of weighted push ups, but even unweighted theres a certain limit i can't break. Weighted just makes you stronger, didn't help me do more unweighted push ups. |

| | | There you go then sgt it may not actually work that way lol.
I just don't see how doing 30 pushups is challenging the body enough to make it adapt though.
Have you had a search on here to see if there are any other threads on increasing endurance?? |

| | | Try to add one more rep each session and continue to progress, the point is to push your body to failure. |

| | | Another option is to break the pushup into segments, i.e. go halfway down, hold for 2 seconds, all the way down then hold for 2 seconds, halfway up and hold for two seconds then all the way up etc etc...
I am sure you wont do 30 then! Plus it puts a bigger strain on the muscle which is what you want. | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
