Newbie here, might be in the wrong place but I need some advice!

Hi,

I'm brand-new to the forum and need some advice! I just found out that I'm going to Maui in 7 weeks (I admit it's a nice problem to have!!) and I'm confused about the best way to get toned up in time to look my best.

I am pretty "in shape", though not nearly to the level you all probably are; I'm 5'11", 161 lbs, so my main focus is on building lean muscle. I'm a recovering "fatty" and post weight-watchers and heavy workouts was once very firm and toned, but slacked off working out and picked up drinking wine... I'd love to get a bit smaller/firmer in my tummy & thighs and have really defined arms. What is the best way to do this?

I just started a workout routine about 2 weeks ago. Right now I "power walk" 4-5 times per week and do weights 3-4 times per week. I do 3 sets of 15-20 reps, and I use a weight that's heavy enough that it's hard for me to finish the reps. Should I keep up this routine or switch to something else- like more reps at lower weights, or something else?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Allison
