p90x question

I have p90x coming. I've heard from friends that it is a good program. My question is, i you are already pretty lean, will it cause you to lose weight and get cut, or will your weight remain the same. I assume it is not for bulking up...

Rickster, I tried sending in the PM but wouldn' let me yet. But, here is the skinny. There are 3 programs to do and there is a nutrition guide that comes with it. You need to be careful on which nutrition plan you decide to use because one will make you lose weight, one will more or less maintain your weight and one will have you gain some weight in muscle. I would go with the classic program on the work out, because it would be the one that would have you gain muscle.

Any questions drop me a line.

You also spoke in another response about doing pullups using the bands. My wife may do the program too and I was wondering how that was done.

Thumbs up

Both my wife and I have done the program together. I would use the dumbbells and she would use the bands. When it came to do the pull ups, there is a little strap that can be purchased so that it goes on the door. To describe, the strap goes through the band and then that little strap as you close the door put it on top and close the door make sure its closed and you can do the reverse pull ups which in essence what it is or lat pull downs. She used one and I used a heavier band.

I hope I did answer your question, the lean will obviously lean you out more, but the classic will give you bulk

Will do. It seems like it would be difficult to add bulk when most of the exercises seem to use body weight or light weight. Would you suggest dumbbells over the bands?

Yes. I have a set from 5 to 25lbs. I didn't feel I needed any more. But you can certainly buy as much as you want. Be aware they're not cheap, average price is anywhere between $.95 to $1.75 per lb. Go on craigs list or ebay. You might find it cheaper than in big sporting goods store.
