I am curious as to how power sets work and what is the benefit. I have read a fair few journals where people are doing power sets especially from the NROL book program and was curious about them.
It is my current understanding that a power set is basically just less breaks between each set of reps for an excercise? If this is correct I assume it is to exhaust the muscle more before the body realises it has run out of energy?
I was thinking of incorporating this into my routine for things like bench and do sets of reps soemthing like 6-3-1-3-6 which weights like 60-70-80-70-60 and only enought iem in between to change the weights. Is this an example of a power set and would it actually be of an benefit?
