Powerlifting

Well I started back on powerlifting after recovering from two breaks, one in my forearm, another in my shoulder. Things are going super good.. getting back into everything feels so nice. But I have a different mindset from what I did before and now I have some questions. From what I understand, since this isn't BB, you basically just eat, sleep, and lift in order to get bigger and make bigger gains. But one thing i want is to have a lower % of body fat and most of them think that maybe i should take up BB instead. But is it possible to get bigger, stronger, and have a pretty low body fat %? If so how should I go about making this possible?

You can power lift and still be lean. When I competed I was right around 180 and I think I competed in the 181 class. Were your breaks due to power lifting?

Yeah you can definately be a lean powerlifter. The thing is that power lifters are often concerned is anaobolism and power obviously so with anabolism comes food.

Power lifters are not judged on aesthetics so they do what works.

But yes you can maintain a lower bodyfat power lifting, look at the pyros guy.

Yeah and you have less weight in useless fat that cant lift weight so you end up with a better weight to power ratio

Increased muscle mass and clean eating helps with fat loss. Yes you can DEFINATELY get bigger power lifting.

Yea you can do cardio, as long as you make up for the calories you burnt when doing it!

Dont even worry about gaining too much weight, I doubt your eating enough cals to where you see a huge fat gain! You will gain muscle and most likely still look fairly lean, which is how i am at the moment!
