| | | At your age, maybe its best to stick to some bodyweight excersises... Pushups are good, maybe some dips, squats (diferent variations), pull ups, chinups, there are a few bodyweight workout routines aroudn the net.
Im kind of new to this too, not as experienced as many people here, but this is just my advice, maybe someone more experienced could help you out too... |

| | | When I began doing pushups I could barely do 3 proper pushup, 5 max if i went all i could. But i kept practicing and practicing. Currently I dont do any pushups [not part of my routine]. But practicing is the only way your going to get better at them, and remember, its better to do 3 proper pushups than 50 sloppy ones. Try to perfect your form. |

Every two hours, do 5 push-ups.
Try to increase by one every week.
After that, do 3x8 w/ 90s rest, decrease rest time 15 secs every two weeks until you're down to 30 secs.
Then increase to 3x12 w/90s rest. |

| | | to add to this post, can you use pushups to increase your benchpress? i can do 40 perfect pushups but i can only push 110 up 8 times on bench. whats the best way to get good at pushups, meaning adding more pushups to your max? |

| | Before I bought equipment this is what I did, and it suited me just fine. I would do about 100 push ups, which soon became too easy. I didn't gain as much as I do now with weights, but back than I had no weights. When they became to easy, I would throw some text books into my backpack and put it on, and do psuh ups with it on. Thats about another 10-20 lbs.
I miss the days when I actually gained from pushups . |

| | I would do around 100 pushups too, but doing sets of 10, since i could do 10 fairly well, with good form... That helped me too because eventually i was able to do sets of 20! Try different stuff with your bodyweight, different routines of pushups, but the most important thing is to practice, and not quit just because you do 3 or 5... Keep trying! Eventually you'll be doing better |
