Pushups and pullups... do it everyday? I usually do abs, pushups, and pullups, and a run but I almost always do it every other day. Can I do these workouts everyday? I am pretty sure you can do pushups and abs everyday but I did not know about pullups. I just want to make sure I can do what I am doing without hurting myself. Thanks. -
Depends how intense your doing them, if your body doesnt feel tired the next day keep doing them, although i think you should give a day or 2 rest once in a while. -
Why aren't you doing leg work? Squats, deadlifts, lunges, etc.
Why aren't you doing more variety? Dips, bench, rows, etc. -
I am only doing them at home for now. I was actually going to start doing squats today. But I don't have any weights at home at the moment and I am really just trying to do things to get my endurance up. I have to look at some leg workouts because when I was going to the gym I was using a bar for squats and the machines for the other areas. -
You could always add lunges and squats just using your own body weight to at least round out your home resistance training regiment. -
Yes, you can do pullups/push ups daily..if you do enough where you feel sore the next day, take a break. But push ups/pull ups alone are not enough of a workout to tear muscles to where you need a day of rest most of the time..unless your really unfit -
phate, are you joking me? how many pullups can you do with strict form, and lets say a slow lowering tempo to make more challenging? Most people don't need to add weight to pullups. pushups might be a different story, but a lot of people can't do that many there either. You gotta ask yourself one question: "Do I have an anterior pelvic tilt?" Well do ya, punk!?
"Does this dress make my ass look big?" - "no, that's the anterior pelvic tilt"
Mancard reinstated, heterosexual card under further review. -

It really depends how many pull ups you are doing..if you just do one set of 10 or something, thats nothing. -
yeah, but those exercises can stimulate growth in the muscles they target. offcource you have to fatigue. You gotta ask yourself one question: "Do I have an anterior pelvic tilt?" Well do ya, punk!?

Heh, i used to do push ups every day...only benefited me. When my pull ups were really weak several months ago, i used to do a set or two every day at school before class.. -
Just take a day off every 2-3 days. At least you're doing pullups and not just pushups and situps.
Like mentioned, do some bw squats, lunges, jump squats, lift the end of your couch (dl mimic), etc. Use what you have man. -
If you are not doing them to where you get sore the next day they you are not getting anything from doing them.
If you want to get benefit then you need to do enough pull ups/chin ups to build muscle... that will then require at least a days rest. -

Who said he wants to build muscle? -
I am mainly going for endurance, and just to get in better shape. I am not aiming for huge muscles just to feel better through out the day. Thanks for all the advice and also what I can do for leg work. I will just try to alternate everyday between what I do so I have a balanced workout. I really only just started doing this about a week ago so I don't get sore to much now. I got sore the first day but after that I haven't. Its obviously nothing like going to the gym and lifting weights which would also result in being sore. Similar Threads -
