Questions about the DeadLift.

According to this chart by my Football (american) Coaches, for someone my size (5'9, 160 pounds) I am suppose to be deadlifting this:
Good- 325
Great- 380
All-state- 415
All-American- 445

This is crazy, I can't deadlift half of 325. My max is 160 on the deadlift? At my training on Tuesdays, Thursdays we do latters, sprints, parachutes and shuttles. What should I be doing weight rise to fit the tuesday, thursday scheldule (so I don't overtrain).

*Can't do squats until I get that equipment around the barbell, kills the neck

Lmao omg they actually think everyone can deadlift that. Just get your form down correctly. Read 10 diff. articles on it and apply. You'll be suprised. Just do a google or go on www.t-nation.com. Besides that don't get your 2nd question.

For squats, just use a towel or start doing shrugs it hurts because you don't have alot of muscle back their.

The bar is supposed to go on your traps, not your neck. Squeeze your shoulder blades together to create a 'table' to place the bar on.

Evo took the words out of my mouth. It should NOT be on your neck. Develop the 'shelf.'

I don't get what youre asking about the tuesday thursday thing.

Be patient with the deadlifts, just make sure your form is good, and you'll get stronger if you keep at it.

Its no secret the best football players are usually the strongest. Hit the squats dude. I would squat 1-3 times a week, using different varations, and only deadlift once a week. Personally i find that the deadlift numbers stagnate pretty quickly and its very demanding on the body. However, squats improve my deadlift numbers without doing alot of deads.

Good mornings, unilateral work, power cleans all things you could include to help your deadlift numbers.

No. Many a tall PL'r has done well w/ deadlifting. Tbar rows are good but they're a different animal than deadlifts.

So this guy in da video does use too much his back and too little his legs..is that correct?

Should I do deads even though I m new to this exercise and I train alone at home? or is it better to avoid it?

Any other links with good performed deads?
