| | | Squats & Lunges on same day? So I've been doing a full body workout 3x a week since January 1rst. I'm happy with the results thus far but I'm still not sure about some of the things I'm doing. I'll probably post my whole workout another day and request some opinions.
For right now I was wondering if I should be doing squats and lunges on the same day. I have been doing it on the same day but I have to say that my legs are pretty sore after the lunges making it hard to do the squats. What should I do? Should I do the squats and lunges on different days? These are the only exercises that I do that work the legs :-/

| | | Nicole,
Your regiment is dictated by the repetitions you perform. Not necessarily the exercises used. Unless you have difficulties with proper form for either squat or lunge, it is just fine to do them on the same day. Itis most likely you will have to post your workout to get a more specific answer. |

~Nicole | I see no harm in doing both exerices on the same day, though I would start off with squats first and then lunges. I would also think of incorporating some more exerices into your program, especially hip dominant ones such as deadlifts. Perhaps some leg curls and the leg press. |

| | | Hi Nicole, when I train I do both and this works fine for me. Maybe switch between lunges and squats - meaning one set squats, one set lunges, squats, lunges, etc. Sore is good - means you are working hard!! Good luck! |

| | | You can do both the same day. Try switching it up once in a while. Do squats first one time, lunges first the next. Adjust your weights accordingly: for whatever number of repetitions you need to do, make sure you use as much weight as you can. | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
