| Its really two different methods of body building as far as my research has taught me. Basically body building makes you do more reps with moderate weights in order for you to build more muscle mass, and thus get an Arnie look.
On the other hand, if you want to gain more strength but not overbulk like body builders, that you would approach this with fewer reps, much heavier weights, and longer rest periods. As far as I understood, strength training helps develop your current muscles into stronger fibers. I could be wrong as I have just started out.
I would recommend talking with your friends on how they reached their current level of fitness. |
