| | strength training with weights I have a full body workout that I do with 5lb weights every other day. I am getting bored with it though and I am having a hard time finding a full body workout that I can use. Most of the ones that I find are too advanced for me and I do workouts at home. Does anyone know a good website to find some good workouts to do with weights? |

| | i got a couple 5 lb weights myself, and i usually punch the air like 40 times while holdin em, and then i punch behind my back while spinning my waist, then i just put em both in one hand and do 21's, but this probably isn't exactly the ideal workout |

| | Heim, what you're doing is horrible on the elbows and I don't know if your martial artist, disrupts the natural pattern of punching and has no carry over.
Candy, I think you're getting bored because your routine stays the same and you're using the same weight. I'd increase the amount of weight you're using (even if it's using a 10 pd db). I'd also write down a list of exercises that work each muscle group and work a different one each workout. Scrapper has some really cool stuff on his website http://www.trainforstrength.com/ It will at least give you some new ideas.
You might also google Pavel, he does a lot of bodyweight and db stuff. |

| | | Hi Candy,
The body quickly adapts to exercise and you'll stop seeing progress if you don't make frequent changes. That's why it's important to keep increasing weights and challenging yourself. Also, using the same weight for every exercise doesn't work well. Large muscles such as the lats can handle a LOT more weight than small muscles like the deltoids because they're stronger.
You may want to consider finding a trainer who can help you set a program that you can do at home that's catered to your needs and goals. That could help you see results and stay interested in your workout!
Hope that helps.

| | | Candy - I am not sure of a specific site to refer to you, I would like to say that the magazine "Fitness" is a great one...I have subscribed to this magazine for over 2 years and each issue has great exercises for the different muscle groups. The subscription is also relatively cheap (under $20 for a year) |

Head over here and get happy
It has strength training info galore. It has routines, exercises (all done with a ball and free weights) and tons of addiitonal stuff.
First thing... you probably need to up those weights. Don't worry about bulking up. You won't. I posted a reply to your other question on the boards as well. I think I talked about bulking up there. You won't.
If you are getting bored... it is definitely time to change things up. Good for you to realize that and then seek out advice. You rock! You'll be fine. Good luck and check out that site.
