swimming/weights

hey guys,
i'm a swimmer and water polo player, and i just joined a gym to work out during the offseason and i'm looking to do some strength building and increase muscle mass.

are there any specific exercises or routines that can help that target swimming? especially chest and/or arms?

thanks so much

they have books upon books about this

well, since you dont want dense muscles, i'd say, dont go anywhere near 80 percent of your one rep maximum

stay somewhere around 70 or 65

and, work out arms and legs

i am not a swimmer, however, and cannot answer your question, only make sugestions,

and, i think you could do bench press', squats, etc.
