I lift moderate weights (free + machines) during my full body workout sessions thrice a week. I started in September 2006 and have been mostly regular with it. I do cardio twice a week (SLD on treadmill).
Since last month, I started noticing dark blue/green blood veins showing up in bicep/elbow area. I searched and found it is mostly due to loosing fat in this area. So it is not an issue. My co-worker, who is PHD in biomechanical told me that this is actually happening because the load is breaking 'capillaries' in the veins which is bad in long run.
That's kind of wierd, its possible that they could be vericose veins but that would be odd seeing is that you lift and vericose veins come from improper valve flow. Green is never a good color though anywhere on your body so I would get it checked out. It might be possible that you cold be destroying the capillaries in your arms because its the same thing that happens when you get frostbite after your capillaries are destroyed causing necrosis which can eventually lead to gangrene. hopefully the ladder is not the case.
haha its possible that you have popped some blood vessels causing weird coloring..just give it some time to heal. But veins are really normal, i have a ton of visible ones... notably in my arms and forehead :S
