Toning? I hate that word. Bottom line, you have to increase muscle mass and decrease body fat. That's it.

This is a no nonsense thread on women and lifting weight. Read it, commit it to memory, apply it.

I think I understand JP's point - "toning" in a little too general. You can increase functional strength without increasing mass - many women like that idea.

Watch out for the Oxygen one. They are brutal over there and I have heard some pretty horrible things being recommended. This is one of the best forums I have found. Truly caring people giving pretty decent advice.
