I Know saturates should be low but how low | I have recently looked into this. FDA says 9% or fewer of total calories should be from sat fat (20 grams per 2000 cals) The American Heart Association says 7% or less (14 grams per 2000 cals) |

The average American is already overweight, doesn't eat well, and doesn't get much exercise.
30-35% of your daily calories can come from fat. that should be split fairly evenly between mono-unsaturated, poly-unsaturated, and saturated fats.
Usually as long as you eat a little red meat and have some eggs daily, you'll get enough saturated fat, but not too much.
In other words, if you're really eating clean, you can pretty much not worry about saturated fat intake since it'll keep itself in check...but you may need to supplement with fish oil or eating salmon to keep your unsaturated fat intake where it should be. |

I am getting most of my fats from nuts, seeds and fish so my sats are quite low.
Just wanted to check too low wasn't still too high.
Today i expect to finish with about 11g on a 2300 cals a day |

I looked at my stats on FitDay even before I thought about saturated fats and I was usually 5-6% every day.....well, unless you count that one day I ate 20 oz of ground beef, but I don't like to talk about that
