workout question

hi, i'm a new member, 5'10 and 150lbs, i dont work much and have access to free weights and a treadmill, and if needed i might get membership to the YMCA. I want my upper body to be lean and cut, not bulky and am wondering what sort of exercises i should be doing over the summer to attain that. Specifically, would it be better to do more reps and less sets for lean cut? I have read some things about squat lifts but im unsure of its effectivness. Thank you for any advice.

If you have a read through the weight lifting stickies then you should find the information you need.

Just to get you started, a well rounded full body workout would be the best thing for you. Don't just focus on your upper body, you need to work your legs as well to avoid imbalances.

Your diet plays a bigger role in how "bulky" you get, not your rep scheme. Try mixing it up a bit to avoid adaptation i.e. change each workout with schemes such as 3x10, 5x5, 4x8 etc
