| | | bit by stray kitten its not a full out puncture...just barely drew blood. kitten appears healthy otherwise and is pretty much scared ****less right now in my bath tub.
i know about getting antibiotic treatments for cat bites...anyone have an opinion on whether i should get a rabies shot?
i was stupid enough to not wear my gloves when trying to catch this little guy.
he is cute though when being held. |

| | You'll only need a rabies shot if the cat has rabies. But you probably don't know that, do you? It often depends on where you live and what the incidence of feline rabies is.
When you're getting antibiotics for the cat bite (which get infected anywhere from 75-95% of the time), you might want to ask the doctor.
Good luck with the bite, and good luck with the little kitty |

| | | Why are you catching kittens and storing them in bath tubs?
Do you own a Chinese takeaway? |

nah he's from a litter of 5. they are in my backyard, my efforts to catch them all yielded only the 1 little guy. so then i left him to the world as i went to class. i came back and he was still all alone so i decided to bring him inside to the warmth. i put a towel, wet food and water out for him.
he spent most of the night crying. |

| | Awww he's cute! Yeah, cat bites can be nasty, I had one on my ankle once that got infected and I couldn't walk for a few days. Wasn't even a stray cat, just my friends cat that decided to go pyscho on me. It was hiding under a sweatshirt and sniping feet as they went by... |

| | | You can get all kinds of $hit from stray cats; rabies, cat-scratch-fever, tetanus.
Definitely see a doc on this one. The doc may want you to take the kitten for a checkup with a vet. |

| | | he's just crying in that pic.
i had to go home to change out of wet clothes this am and his siblings were outside. i put him out with them. i have no where to keep him this weekend when i am away. my normal go to person is grieving because her families dog was put down last night so she's not up for cat sitting. and i have no time to bring him to a shelter. i will check on them when i get home this afternoon. |

And its always a girl? Haha. :P Around here I am the kitten go-to person, especially for bottle feeding (no one else wants to wake up every 4 hours, imagine that... lol). If you call your local ASPCA or similar organization they can probably provide you with live traps to try and get the rest of the litter and hopefully the mama cat (they'll do best with her around). |
