Thoughts for the day (June 16th, 2007):
Main ONE: RIGHT ON!
"Man often becomes what he believes himself to be. If I keep on saying to myself that I cannot do a certain thing, it is possible that I may end by really becoming incapable of doing it. On the contrary, if I have the belief that I can do it, I shall surely acquire the capacity to do it even if I may not have it at the beginning." - Mohandas Karamchand (Mahatma) Gandhi

the greatest source of true intensity is application of force where there is no resistance, and choosing to completely give yourself anyway! -kinda like you eh!
Chillen, i sense you are the ROCK. i, just as protein boy, will also be watching and try to add some fluidity to your dogged detemination. It's the way man!! we can balance one another. the Ying and the Yang..... cowboy meets dragon and all that jazz.
I got off work early today, I was training, and the trainee is ready, and I got to go home early with PAY!.......
Okay I have a thought or analogy today that I have in mind and a certain focus.....for a point, and would like your input to see if you can pinpoint my thought process as it pertains to diet and weight training:
But, on the first, no I wouldnt make it that obvious of an answer.
and the second, is to fundelmental (but, the mindset and motivation side is the right way to think)
Think of it, more on the motivational side of the equation------and what a roter rooter does........now, flyinfree.....I am not referring to roter rooting canals..........LOL
What does a roter rooter DO? It twists and turns, and but STILL.........does what? (A hint)
ROTFL!!! DRseus; That is a fantastic thought process, love that! To be truthfull, its better than the train of thought then I had.........great thought on it! and TRUE TO BOOT! You a DR? ( )
Waiting on you Pro teen boy, I see you here I know your looking at or was looking at this thread
One more hint, before I disclose:
A roter rooter, does "what" when it twists and turns, other than dislodging or breaking through? And when you get the WHAT and ad the dislodging or breaking through together----on the motivational side of diet and exercise, and we come up with what?
I know, you may never look at a roter rooter the same.......I sorry...........
Your life right now is the result of the things you have done up until this point in time. If you want your life to be different, you will need to make changes. Wishing for a better life won't make it so. In order for "things" to change, you must be willing to change. That means getting out of your comfort zone. It means facing your fears.
You are remarkably adaptable. If you've made it this far, you have already gone through many major changes in all aspects of your life. From being an infant to a toddler to a child to a teen to an adult, the first few years of your life were filled with constant change. You are certainly up to the task.
Almost always, the fear of change, the fear of the unknown, is worse than the change itself. Once you understand this, then you realize that it is easier to change than to resist change.
There are things you need to do, changes you need to make. Go ahead with them. Don't waste your energy fearing them or resisting them. Dive right in and do what needs to be done. Change is a constant part of life. When you fear it, it will happen anyway, out of your control. When you embrace change, it will enable you to reach your goals.
And number two:
Scrutiny
What if everyone knew your secrets? Would that change the way you live your life, the way you conduct business, the way you act when no one is looking? You may not live and work under the close scrutiny of others, yet it pays to act as though you do.
Scrutiny imposes discipline. If we're certain that no one will ever know, we're more likely to take shortcuts. Yet when we know that others are watching, we're more scrupulous about everything. That is almost always a good thing.
Though the world is not always watching you, the fact is that every action you take has consequences, whether you act publicly or in secret. If what you do today could not stand up to the scrutiny of others, then someday it will catch up with you.
Live as though the world is watching, and reap the many rewards that discipline and integrity will bring.
And to whom ever is a Father 2morrow, happy fathers day!
The absolute POWER IS IN EACH OF YOU! Today is tomorrow and tomorrow never comes
Have you ever had the chance to watch a Beaver at work? Well, if you haven't, you'd be amazed at what they can teach us all about succeeding at a task. Beavers, whether they know it or not, are masters at setting goals. They see a tree that may be too big to bring down for food all at one time, but they don't give up. They are determined to bring that tree down even if they have to keep going back for a few more bites over and over again.
"The difference between the impossible and the possible
lies in a person's determination."
Tommy Lasorda
So what does this beaver activity mean to you and I?
Beavers have a clear goal in mind when they tackle a tree to chew down for future food from the multitude of branches. When you want to achieve something no matter what it is, setting goals keep you focused on the end result. Know what you want, and determine where you are today in relation to what you want. Once you know where you are today, set your goals and the actions needed to get it.
And, very important, don't be discouraged if you are unable to reach your goal when you thought you should. Realign, or rethink your action plan and begin again towards achieving your goal or end result. Stay focused and don't allow distractions to fill your mind or derail you from taking continued action. It's easy to let others things in life throw you off, so be aware. Any unforeseen challenges that crop up are only there to test your resolve on your way to ultimate success in reaching your goal.
"Choosing a goal and sticking to it changes everything."
Scott Reed
Im still waiting on ProteinBoy to make one more stab at the "Roter Rooter" Question, before I post my thoughts on the two-word meaning toward the motivational portion of diet and exercise.
