17 Year old looking for a workout plan/diet plan I'm 5'10" and weigh 220 pounds. I just started running on an elliptical for 30 minutes every other day and doing weight training before the running. I have Body Gear BG-1000 Home Gym - Model 15815 at Sears.com
as my weight machine. I want to get down to like 200 or 190 pounds and have a more toned body. I do have a bigger body build. If anyone could help me out with a meal plan/ weight lifting for that machine it would be greatly appreciated. Should I run every day or every other day and should I do the weight training before or after the cardio. Lastly, should I eat dinner before or after I work out for maximum weight loss? I know I'm asking a lot but if anyone could help me out it would be greatly appreciated for as I am tired of being over weight and being embarrassed taking my shirt off in the summer time. Thanks again! -
I would suggest doing cardio (mix it up) 5 days a week for 30 minutes and weight training 2-3 days. And yes do it before your cardio.
Let's see what you eat on a typical day. Lay it out. -
I usually have a bowl of cereal for breakfast. Then for lunch I either have pizza or chicken quesdilla (I'm in high school) but I would rather start to bring my lunch if I could have some not to hard to make/healthy meals to bring. As for dinner it varies, usually some type of meat. -

Each meal should consist of a protein, carb and fat. Check out LV's grocery list and pick from that if you don't know what the good stuff looks like: http://training.fitness.com/nutritio...ist-19098.html
Combine a good clean diet with weight training and cardio and you'll be on the right track. -
So do weights 3 days a week every other day, cardio 5 times a week 6 meals a day that consist of a protein, carb and fat? -

You can do 2 or 3 days of weight training. But everything else is in place. Seriously try to go by that list of foods. Processed foods like cookies, cakes, cereal.. are not going to help you lose weight. -
I can successfully say that as of now I have lost 10 pounds and I'm still going! I need to eat a little bit healthier though but I have been working out almost everyday and have improved my diet a lot! -

sorry, but I'm new here. I started workin out yesterday because I'm sick of being fat and embarassing. soo.... I did 50 push ups twice, and 50 sit ups twice. it's all I could do with what I know. so I am looking for some advice. I need to know what Kind of workouts to do and what kind of food to eat. if anyone on here can help me pls do, and again sorry for writing this under your forum I just didn't know anywhere else. thanks alot! -
Being an athlete you need work outs that will give strength to your body also, more strength on certain body parts.
You can opt for strength training.
Kettle bell and BOSU exercises will help you a lot.
You can do crunches, BOSU Lower body strengthening, upper body strengthening. And yes kettle bells are far better than any other free exercises. -
Can someone explain why 6 smaller meals is better than 3 larger meals? I would imagine that to be kind of hard if someone is in full time education or has a job. -
yea, as a senior in high school time is a limiting factor. its a little hard to eat 6 meals a day during school. any advice? -
Eat lower calories then you burn, that is the secret. -
