The best thing is to join a Boxing Gym.
I'm very skinny and was aprehensive of training there, (thinking that the others are all Rocky's!) I was surprised-some are just as thin as me, but really strong and that surprised me.
You get proper training, (Your're told how to stand, punch, etc) it's hard, but I enjoy the sessions. Also they have equipment you can use, until you get yours.

I'm glad. You don't have to fight straightaway, if ever. It's all about enjoying it and building confidence. I hardly go in the ring, unless a sparring match.
I reckon boxing training is the best cv (Cardio Vascular) workout you can get...
Go Rocky!

Talking

I joined boxing about a year ago, if your interested in competition it can sometimes be stressful. It's all about your weight class. Your 18 years old. Lets say you weigh about 180, this meens you can fight 35 year olds that weigh 185! Make sure your ready physically and mentally before you go in the ring. I'm really short and weigh about 130. All the guys I fight are tall and skinny so it's fairly easy for me
